okay. why john green is a piece of fucking trash:
- thinks it “takes guts” to release a movie with a female lead – like, what the fuck?
- TFIOS is antisematic and disrespectful to Anne Frank - had a fucking kiss scene in the Anne Frank house & ignored the fact she died because of the Holocaust (more about this here)
- has said he thinks nerd girls are an “underutilized romantic resource” in a disgusting quote, sexualising and dehumanising female nerds, referring to them as a ‘resource’ instead of people
- suggested people just ignore misogyny to be nice to authors and supports a series that has canonically abusive relationships and racist elements
- shamed women with eating disorders and cosmetic surgery in this video
- made a grossly fatphobic video in which he seems to think fatshaming someone will make them lose weight (claims he can make this video because he is fat? he is not fat)
- tricked the woman he later married into a first date by lying and promising her there would be a group of people there (basically lured a woman to be alone with him under false pretences)
- “what a slut time is, she screws everybody.”
- inappropriately & incorrectly portrays terminal cancer in TFIOS and made the romance take centre stage - making cancer a fucking side plot (more here on why TFIOS is shit)
- places blame on women who’s boyfriends feel uncomfortable by their intelligence, rather than, you know, calling the boyfriends out on feeling uncomfortable by a woman being smarter than them
- publicly shown solidarity & support for an admitted rapist
- used the slur tr**ny while in support of the cissexist and islamophobic laci green
- thinks he’s a progressive writer but in reality is just writing white girl meets white boy stories over and over again, while sexualizing young nerdy girls and romanticizing mental illnesses
